He is probably the greatest example of a man who faced so many failures, didn't lose hope, kept trying and then passed success. He is Abraham Lincoln. He could have quit many times but he didn't. Here is a sketch of Lincoln's road to success...
He lost his job , 1832
He was then defeated for legislature, 1832
He failed in business, 1833
He was declared bankrupt, 1834
His fiancee died, 1835
He suffered a nervous breakdown, 1836
He was defeated for Speaker in Congress, 1838
He was then defeated for nomination in Congress, 1843
He lost renomination, 1848
He then entered a race for U.S. Senate and was defeated, 1854
He was then defeated for nomination for Vice-President, 1856
He ran for the Senate and lost again, 1858
At the age of 60 , he was elected as the President of the United States , 1860
In spite of an incredible string of setbacks , he went on to become one of the greatest statesmen of history.
He said,"You cannot fail unless you quit."
