An American Farmer Sells Cows To A Japanese Delegation

A six-member Japanese Delegation went to Texas to buy cows. The American farmer showed them the works, and told the Japanese that he will offer them a good deal. And it was: if the Japanese select the cows, each cow would cost $1000 and if the American selects the cows, the price would be $900. The American took a quick decision, a decision on the spot, like we Indians do sometimes! But the Japanese believe that slow and steady wins the race. They excused themselves to a meeting room for an hour. The American was going crazy, cursing the Japanese as slow thinkers.

Finally when the Japanese emerged, the American farmer anxiously asked about their decision. The Japanese leader quietly said in his slow and broken English, "Mr. Bill, we would like you to select the cows for us."

American asked,"How many?"

Japanese replied,"All."

The Japanese got the deal, and the smart American sold all, at a little loss!!

WATER OR COKE ?
I could not believe this.....  Very interesting
WATER

#1.   75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.. (Likely applies to half the world population)

#2.     In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#6.    Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7.    A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8..   Drinking 8 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

COKE

Some Men & Women Who Mocked God

... BE SURE YOU SCROLL WAY DOWN TO SEE WHAT THIS  HOLDS FOR YOU!!!!  YOU JUST MIGHT BE SURPRISED!!!

DID YOU KNOW THESE FACTS?

Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!

Make a personal reflection about this.......
It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):
'Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man sow,
that shall he also reap..

Here are some men and women
who mocked God :

John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with
an American Magazine, he said:
'Christianity will end, it will disappear.
I do not have to argue about that... I am certain.
Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more
famous than Him' (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ,
was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes
from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.

Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President,
then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),
while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air
and said:'God, that's for you.'

He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the
Titanic would be.
With an ironic tone he said: 'Not even God can sink it'

The result:I think you all know what happened to the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a
show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
'I don't need your Jesus'.

A week later, she was found dead in her apartment

Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC.. On one of his 1979 songs he
sang: 'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to
hell'.
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked
by his own vomit.

Campinas (In 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a
friend.....
The mother accompanied her daughter to the car and was so worried about the
drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter
holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
'My daughter, Go With God and may He protect you.'

She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full '
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident,
everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.

The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To
their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)
said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.

In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor
vehicle.

Many more
important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.

Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

'Jesus'

I have done my part, Jesus said
'If you are embarrassed about me, I will also be embarrassed about you before my Father.'

How To Crack An Interview ?

People make many silly mistakes while giving an interview and these mistakes can be overcome by the 2 P's i.e. Patience and Preparation. It is said that a successful interview is a presentation that marries the job-seeker's personality and professional experience to the needs of the hiring manager and the company. Here are some tips which shall help you in blowing the interviewer's mind:

1. Research thoroughly:  Take some time, in advance, to use the Internet to discover as much information as you can about the company. Spend time, as well, tapping into your network to see who you know who can help give you an interview edge over the other candidates. Browse through the company website , see their latest products and offers , know the history of the company , their total worth etc.

2. Be positive: During the interview, stay positive and avoid bad-mouthing previous employers.Remember, the job interview is a platform to market yourself. It is a strategic conversation with a purpose. Your goal is to persuade the employer that you have the skills, background and ability to do the job and that you can comfortably fit into the organisation and its culture.

3. Communicate well: Develop your verbal communications skills. Having great management or technical skills and a strong record of accomplishment is not helpful if you can't verbally convey you successes.

4. Give Examples: Be ready with some examples from your life by practicing specific anecdotes that highlight your accomplishments and the ways in which you dealt with challenges in your past roles. Be prepared to share ideas of what you would bring to the position.

5. Groom well: Like it or not, appearance is also an important aspect in getting you a job.
Some basic guidelines to follow are:
  • Be clean and neat, including your fingernails, teeth, shoes, hair and face
  • Conservative two-piece business suit in a basic color
  • Empty pockets-no bulges or tinkling coins/keys, etc.
  • No gum, candy or cigarettes
  • Light briefcase or portfolio case
  • No visible body piercing (noise, eyebrow, tongue, etc.) -wear minimum jewelry and cologne
  • Arrive ten minutes early and arrive alone
  • Smile; be friendly
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Use good eye contact
  • Shake hands firmly
  • Use good manners
  • Don't interrupt and don't argue.
  • Take resumes and/or other pertinent information.
6. Introduce yourself properly: Try to start your introduction with a quote and relate yourself to that quote. Make it look as if you are talking to a friend and not with a superior. The beginning and the conclusion should be properly made. Below is an example for the correct introduction:

"Hi, my name is James. I was born and brought up in New Jersey. My father owns a business of clothes and my mother is a homemaker. I have a brother who is pursuing his education. I did MBA from the University of Michigan and I have an experience of 3 years in the field of management. I have chosen this field as I love this field and the challenges it poses.
Coming to my hobbies, I like reading books as I like to keep myself updated with new things happening around and it also helps me in improving my knowledge. I like reading fiction very much. I also enjoy cooking because it requires a high level of skill and precision. I love to travel and see new places.
My strengths are my confidence, hardworking nature and positive attitude. One instance where my strengths really came in handy was in my graduation. Mathematics was (and is) very tough and I could never get along with it. Everybody thought that I wouldn't pass but I had confidence in myself that I would definitely pass. I worked hard and in the end, staying positive really showed results and I passed with good marks. My weakness is I am a perfectionist and I always strive to achieve perfection in whatever work that is given to me.
Well, that's all I've to say about myself as of now and I thank you for giving me this opportunity. It was a pleasure talking to you."

GOOD LUCK.
,

Lee Zalben of Peanut Butter & Co.

Lee Zalben, Founder and President of Peanut Butter & Co., came up with the idea for his business in college…but not sitting in any classroom. As Lee and his friends studied for finals, they developed a fun competition to hold during those much-needed study breaks: who could create the “craziest but best-tasting peanut butter sandwich.” Fast-forward to post-graduation when Lee saw an empty storefront in the Greenwich Village area of New York City and thought it would be an ideal locale for a peanut butter sandwich shop. In 1998, The Peanut Butter & Co. Sandwich shop opened. Offering gourmet peanut butter sandwiches as well as desserts, milkshakes, and smoothies, the company has grown quickly, selling its varieties of all-natural peanut butter in more than 15,000 supermarkets and specialty food stores.

Scott Harrison of charity: water

Scott Harrison didn't like the fact that things like toothpaste had better marketing campaigns than lifesaving causes. There were a few other things that he thought he could change. So at 30 Harrison founded charity: water, which brings clean drinking water to developing nations. One goal was to make sure that the branding wouldn't suck. When Harrison was 28, he had the realization that he was a "selfish scumbag" while on vacation in Uruguay. He thought he had everything he wanted: Model girlfriends, a Rolex, a BMW. But he wasn't satisfied. To date, charity: water has funded 3,962 water projects, providing access to clean, safe drinking water for 1,794,983 people in 19 countries. Harrison's goal now? Raise $2 billion to help 100 million people in the next 10 years.

The Coffee Giant - Cafe Coffee Day

The largest among all the coffee growers in India today is a man named V.G. Siddhartha. He was born in a traditional coffee plantation family in Chikmagalur. The family had grown coffee for generations but did not have huge ambitions-they were content with a few hundred acres under cultivation. Siddhartha, the only son of his parents, finished studying economics and wanted to see the world for himself. He told his father that he wanted to learn about the world of financial investment; he wanted to go faraway Mumbai and learn from a man named Mahendra Kampani whom he had never met. With permission from his father, young Siddhartha boarded a bus to Mumbai, where he rented a hotel room with a shared toilet.

Mumbai stunned Siddhartha - it was beyond his imagination. The next day, he went to see the man who was to become his mentor. At Kampani's high rise office, he saw people waiting for the elevator at the ground level; he had never seen one and was very self-conscious to ride one. He chose to climb the several floors instead and managed to meet Kampani. He talked himself into an apprenticeship and started working long days and late evenings under the tutelage of the famous investment manager and former president of the Bombay Stock Exchange. After nearly two years, when Siddhartha felt he had a good understanding of the world of money, he returned home to fully engage himself with the coffee business.

The coffee business was a difficult one. Estate owners found it challenging to manage alternate years of famine and glut. Siddhartha started buying the estates that were going out of business and revived them. Over time, the cultivation grew but he found himself at the mercy of international coffee bean buyers who had an upper hand in deciding the coffee bean prices. So, rather then constantly having to negotiate for better prices, he decided to start his own chain to retail coffee. He shifted from selling the beans to selling the brew. That is how Cafe Coffee Day came into being. Today, the familiar cherry red sign dots thousands of places in the country. Not only does Siddhartha sell coffee there but eatables as well because young people like to sit down and spend time over a sandwich and a piece of cake with their coffee.

This was a classic case of the power of adjacency in the market. If you sell coffee, adjacent to it is the idea of a sandwich and a bottled water. But coffee retailing to selling sandwiches is not just about the food and the espresso machines; it is about people. Siddhartha needed thousands of young people to deliver the Cafe Coffee Day experience. Towards this he opened a hospitality training institute in Chikmagalur, and another in Chennai, where he offered stipends to rural youth who could get trained for six months and then join the workforce. He thereby created thousands of jobs for people who otherwise would have found it difficult to compete in a rapidly growing but predominantly urban economy.

In 2010, Siddhartha bought out Emporio, a coffee chain in the Czech Republic. That year, he had a sales turnover of 100 million dollars, serving more than one million cups of coffee a day! This is how was made a coffee giant - Cafe Coffee Day.

The Story Of Coffee - From Mecca to India

The story has it that a Baba Budan from Chikmagalur went to Mecca on a pilgrimage way back in the 1600s. There he met Arab traders returning from Africa, and they gave him a few coffee beans. He brought back seven seeds, which he gave to his followers to cultivate. The beans go scattered about the hills that were home to Baba Budan and, in time, the locals discovered and cherished what came to be known as Arabica Indica variety of coffee. Today, centuries later, Baba Budan's legacy has grown and,in 2009-10,India produced 2,89,000 tonnes of coffee, most of which found its way out of India.
